This week the contestants of Pinoy Idol were grouped in pairs and performed a duet on stage inside cinema 6 of SM North Edsa. From the original 175 on the first day of Manila week, 90 remained battling it to the Top 45.

Judges Ogie Alcasid and Jolina Magdangal were pissed off with one of the contestants named Warren Antig. The said contestant made a scene because he was thinking of backing out from the competition. After much delays, he decided to give it a go only to find out that the judges didn’t like his attitude and unprofessionalism. Ogie explains: “I couldn’t let it pass. He was wasting everyone’s time. I wanted him to realize that a production isn’t just one person … that there are so many people involved.” Fortunately for him though, his drama worked as he got in.

Ogie also reprimanded a 16-year-old girl who, he felt, did not support her female partner in the duets round. Raymond calls them the week’s “Drama Queens.”

26 males and 19 females made it to the Top 45. Next week, they will be trimmed down to 12 girls and 12 guys as the Top 24 will be announced. Finally!
