The Eraserheads Reunion Concert was cut short last night at the Fort Bonifacio open field in Taguig City. After Ely’s performance of Fruitcake, he felt weak backstage and he finally collapsed. Ely was rushed to Makati Medical Center.

After 30 minutes there was an announcement made onstage, apologizing that the reunion concert will be stopped because the lead vocalist of the group suffered physical and emotional stress.

Two days before the concert, Ely Buendia’s mother died of cardiac arrest after the surgery. It’s understood that Ely’s performance was greatly affected by the sudden death of his mom. Ely Beundia has a history of heart failure last year.

The group prepared 30 songs for the reunion concert. They already sang more than 10 songs when the accident happened. The show started at 8:15pm and ended at 10:00pm.
